Climate Change Summit Report
Report Due: Friday, April 24th
You will use your notes and research to compile a report about your country and the recommendations you want to make to world leaders. Your recommendations will describe how climate change is effecting your country and what your country and the world should do in response.
Your report will follow this outline:
Part 1: INTRODUCTION (1 paragraph, complete sentences): Describe your country including the following:
location
people, customs, cultures, languages
physical geographic features (bodies of water, mountains, etc.)
wealth
resources
how your country makes money
average annual high and low temperatures
average annual rainfall
Part 2: THE EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON YOUR COUNTRY(1 paragraph, complete sentences): Describe problems in your country that are a result of climate change. Possible effects include
a. pollution, reduced air quality
b. reduced access to clean water
c. rising sea levels
d. inhospitable temperatures
e. lack of renewable resources
f. changes in what people can harvest and eat
g. job loss (farming, etc.)
Part 3: WHAT OUR COUNTRY CAN DO (1 paragraph, complete sentences): What steps has your country already taken or what steps can they take in the future to address the effects of climate change. Possible actions include:
a. decreasing CO2 emission levels
b. increasing access to clean water
c. investing in renewable energy
d. donating money to other countries that are less well off
e. increasing access to public transportation
f. building windmills or solar panels
g. finding new, sustainable ways to make money for the country
h. decreasing consumption and waste
Part 4: WHAT THE WORLD SHOULD DO (1 paragraph, complete sentences): What responsibility do other countries have to taking action and assisting your country? Possible world actions include:
committing to reduce CO2 levels
giving money to renewable energy projects
reducing consumption and waste
investing in renewable energy
helping poorer countries
Part 5: Sources: Include a list of at least 5 sources for where you got your information.
