Black History Month Choice Project Description
2015 Black History Month Project
February is Black History Month. This annual tradition is a time to celebrate the achievements of African Americans and the central role of Black Americans in U.S. history and the U.S. social narrative. Black History month was first imagined by Carter G. Woodson in 1976 and has been celebrated each year since then.
Our annual school celebration and assembly will be on Wednesday, February 11th. The school assembly is from 2:00-3:00. An evening celebration will follow from 6-8 pm and will include dinner, jazz music, and student performances (song, dance, and spoken word).
