Week of October 6th

Reading

We will begin reading a new novel Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick. We will discuss character development and traits. Students will continue to write about what they read by writing a reading responses. Everyone should have at least four reading responses completed when turning in Reading Notebooks this week.

Writing

We will begin working on argumentative writing using an online learning tool called ThinkCerca. Students turned in drafts of their personal narratives on Friday. Narrative will be handed back on Thursday and we will begin the revising and editing process.

Science

We are continuing with our study of energy this week. We'll discuss the environmental and political impacts of energy use and consveration. Students will take a test on Friday to show what they've learned throughout the unit.
